Celebrating Early SEO Success: Three Months of Progress for My First Client
Embarking on my first-ever client SEO project has been an exciting and educational journey. The client is a niche industrial B2B company specializing in woven ribbon manufacturing. From the outset, I was anxious about delivering tangible results, but I am thrilled to share that we are beginning to see meaningful movement after three months of diligent effort.
Initial Phase: Setting the Foundation
We officially kicked off the project on June 1st. During the initial weeks, the website’s organic performance remained relatively static. The first data point was modest: just 21 clicks and approximately 1,541 impressions. It was a slow crawl, and I questioned whether my strategies were on the right track.
Progress Over Time: Noticeable Momentum
Fast forward to recent weeks, and the growth is undeniable. In the past week alone, the site garnered around 80 clicks and achieved approximately 9,000 impressions in a single day. Over the three-month period, the cumulative metrics now stand at approximately 2,490 clicks and 274,000 impressions, with an average position of 11 in search results.
While these figures are encouraging, they also highlight areas for improvement. The current click-through rate (CTR) is around 0.9%, and with an average position of 11, most impressions are on page two of search results—less visibility than we aim for. Improving rankings and CTR remains my next focus.
Reflections and Next Steps
It’s common in SEO to encounter a period of stagnation before seeing sustained growth, and our experience aligns with that pattern. The pivotal shift occurred around mid-July, and since then, the upward trajectory has been consistent.
This journey reinforces the importance of patience, persistent optimization, and data-driven adjustments. While we’re still a work in progress, witnessing the emerging upward trend is incredibly motivating.
Sharing the Milestone
I wanted to take a moment to reflect on this milestone and share my progress openly. For anyone starting out in SEO or managing client projects, remember that growth often takes time—early signs of movement are worth celebrating.
Thank you for taking the time to read this update. Here’s to continued growth and learning!
